Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Law Orbit collects when you use our website and our service, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain.

1 Who we are

Law Orbit provides cloud software to legal professionals. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Law Orbit, and "the service" refers to our website and our software.

If you use the service through your employer or firm, that organisation controls the data held in its environment and this policy describes how we handle it on their behalf.

2 Information we collect

Account information — the name, email address, and organisation details provided when an account is created.

Content you provide — the information you and your colleagues enter into the service while using it.

Usage and technical data — log records such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the time of each request, which we use to keep the service running and secure.

Cookies — we use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against forged requests. We do not use advertising cookies.

3 How we use information

To provide, maintain, and secure the service.

To respond to your questions and provide support.

To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse or technical problems.

To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

4 Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We share information with service providers who help us operate the service — for example hosting, email delivery, and error monitoring — and only to the extent they need it to perform that work.

We may disclose information where we are required to by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

5 Retention

We keep information for as long as an account is active, and afterwards only for the period needed to meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

On request, we will delete or return the content held in an organisation's environment, subject to those obligations.

6 Security

Each organisation is hosted in its own isolated environment. Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, and administrative activity is recorded.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information entrusted to us.

7 Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to certain processing.

To make a request, write to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before we act.

8 Children

The service is intended for professional use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9 International transfers

We may process information in countries other than your own. Where we do, we take steps to ensure it receives a comparable level of protection.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of the page, and where the change is significant we will provide notice through the service.
